Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard
Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard – The perfect addition to any gift basket or a gift in itself! “Do You Cabernet” is one of our favorite Sugarloaf wine baskets. Check it out below.
Chardonnay
The Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard Chardonnay is made in the Chablis style. Without malolactic fermentation, the wine retains its sharp, fruity character. Aging in high quality French oak prevents the “over-oaked” character of many of today’s Chardonnays. Food pairings for this wine include grilled fish, shellfish and sharp cheeses.
Cabernet Fanc
The Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard Cabernet Franc, an outstandingMaryland red wine, is quickly becoming our signature wine. Our 2005 won a Double Gold in the 2007 International Eastern Wine Competition. The Franc demonstrates Mid-Atlantic winemaking at its finest. This complex, elegant wine will pair well with veal and pork.
Cabernet Sauvignon
The Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is made in the style of the best new world Cabernets. The wine is rich and dark with a complex structure. Food pairings for this wine include grilled or lightly sauced beef and aged cheeses.
Circe
In mythology, Circe is a powerful enchantress who transforms mortals with her potions. Daughter of the Sun and mother of Comus, the goddess has charms that few can resist. Circe is a youthful, easy-drinking red wine. A blend of the five Bordeaux varietals, Circe demonstrates that fruit-forward early release wines can still have outstanding flavor depth and a complex character. This finely balanced wine will pair well with grilled meats and vegetables along with dark chocolate.
Comus
In mythology, Comus is the god of revelry and merriment. The son of Bacchus and Circe, Comus tempts mortals with a life of pleasure. We promise our Comus will not work its bewitching powers in a similar fashion, but rather will turn you into a connoisseur of fine wine! A blend of the fiveBordeauxvarietals, it exhibits the potential for outstanding flavor depth and character in a Mid-Atlantic red wine.
Merlot
The Sugarloaf Merlot subtly expresses classic Merlot characteristics. Highly complex, this Merlot surprises with understated elements that separate it from many Merlots. The spice infused fruit nature of this wine will allow it to pair with hearty stews and cassoulets along with satisfying pasta dishes.
Pinot Grigio
Pinot Grigio at Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard is made in the light, fruity Italian style. Outstanding with surprising complexity, the wine already exhibits classic Pinot Grigio characteristics. Pair this wine with risotto, lightly flavored pastas, omelettes, quiches and grilled white meats or salmon.
Stomp
In October 2007 Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard held our first annual “Stomp” event, a fall celebration of winemaking that features a friendly competition of guests, friends and family pressing red grapes with their feet old-world style. With leftover grapes, an open tank and some French Oak barrels, the Stomp wine was born. The results were such a hit that Sugarloaf opted to continue producing this popular quaff. The 2009 Stomp is not so much a light, off-dry red, but a serious red wine that just happens to balanced nicely with a higher degree of residual sugar. Pair this wine with anything you can carry to picnics, festival or a day at the beach. Drink now! Serve Chilled.
